A familiar name in the musical scene, Tiong Eng’s recordings are being played regularly on radio.  A pioneer on the flute, he is the only Master degree holder in flute performance (London) in Singapore.

There he won the First prize in the Superior class and graduated with the distinguished Prix d'Excellence.

Since 1987, he performed full time with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and was appointed lecturer at the LaSalle College of Music. He has also given numerous chamber concerts and highly-acclaimed yearly recitals with both piano and harp.

In 1993, Tiong-Eng went to London to further his studies with the internationally-renowned virtuoso William Bennett at the Royal Academy of Music. There he obtained his Licentiate of the Academy (LRAM) and his Master of Music degree from the University of London.

After 15 years of professional orchestral playing, Tiong Eng is now focusing on performing solo and chamber music.  His other passion includes teaching the young generation with the best method from both the French and the British style of flute playing.  Currently, he is tutoring in Nanyang Technological University(NTU)-National Institute of Education(NIE) and Singapore Youth Orchestra.

Besides regular engagements for studio recording, Tiong Eng had released 2 solo CD recordings, a French collection with the harp and a romantic album with the piano.
